Plan an Easter Wedding

Kimberly Brown-Feay
Most couples plan their wedding in the summer to insure that it will be a nice shiny day and they are able to wear light clothing or a strapless gown. Why go the traditional way of your wedding day, dare to be different. Plan an Easter Wedding that will be fun and exciting and different but keeps in tradition of what Easter is all about. Start out with the Invitations, design your own invitations on the front of the invites design an Easter cross with the Easter flowers wrapped around it and on each side of the cross have gold ring bands hanging down with each of the couple's names on each ring. Plan to have pastel colors both as your theme and for your Bridal Party. Colors like mint green, lavender, light pink, baby blues, and yellow. Have each person in your bridal wear each one of those colors make, the color light with an Easter feel. The Bride can keep her dress traditional but just add some pretty pastel color flowers to the bottom of her Wedding dress to keep with the theme of the wedding.

Plan to decorate the church or hall with the same pastel colors with a mixture of Easter lilies, Tulips, Irises and Daffodils on each end of the chairs most near the aisles. Leave the Balloons to for the Reception Hall keep the hall or church simples but elegant. After the wedding instead of throwing rice or blowing bubbles thrown Pink Tulips. It's environmentally safe, what happens to the flower petals when fall comes they fall to the ground. The wedding reception should be fun colors with Easter theme Party favors. Try making up little baskets with Pastel color mints in them for after dinner mints. The centerpiece could be colored candles shaped as Easter Eggs with Easter Lilies around each candle in the middle of the table or floating candles set in a clear dish with flowers on the bottom how pretty those flowers would look when the candle is lit. As a special treat for the people leaving you could set some Chocolate Bunnies into an Easter colored box with a quote about love or marriage or about family during Easter on cards tied to the box with ribbons.

Make a room off of the reception room and plan for the children to have an Easter egg hunt there so the adults can have a great time while the children play off in another room. Have your cake decorated in beautiful Easter colors with flowers and butterflies on it, what symbolizes spring and Easter better than flowers and butterflies? On the top of the cake either have a couple of Bunnies standing close together or having their first kiss as man and wife or just a basic heart shaped clear class with an Easter theme on it. Make the colors really pop out so everyone knows that you stayed with the theme of the wedding especially when it comes to the colors of the ribbon and balloons at the hall.

The food at the reception should include everything your family would make if they were having Easter dinner at their house. Have each guess choose from a menu of Lamb, Ham, Roast Beef everything that you would have at Easter family dinner plan your menu around that. After you serve a wonderful meal then each guess can open there Party favor Easter Baskets with the Pastel mints in it for an after dinner mint and make sure there are extra mints at each table in a bowl with mess around it so that they have mints even if they eat the party favor mints before dinner. What a beautiful way to include everyone in your joyous occasion than to have fun with it. Dare to be different but still staying in the tradition. Show people that you don't have to have a summer wedding for it to be fun and special and colorful. Makes sure your wedding will be the talk of the town and people will want to plan their wedding and the same or similar fashion. Most importantly make sure that your wedding day is exactly what you want and as special as the day you got engaged and the happiest day of you and your fiancés life.
