Where are the best places to vacation in the Northwest? Washington, Oregon and British Columbia are great places to visit any time of the year. If you are planning a fall weekend getaway, here are some good places to try. Fall travel is fun and there are lots of different activities than in summer. Whale Watching, (Orca's, Grey's and Humpback's live here year round) Bear Watching, crabbing, camping, hiking and fall festivals are just a few highlights of a fall trip.

Tofino, Vancouver Island, B.C
Tofino is a fishing village on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Perfect for a weekend getaway with plenty of things to do and see while vacationing. Visit the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve for hiking, swimming or camping. See The Tofino Whale Center and Museum, or check out the Tofino Food and Wine Festival, the proceeds from the event go for improving the community. Travel 1 ½ hours north of Tofino to visit Hot Spring Cove, located in Maquinna Provincial Park.

San Juan Island is one of the four islands served by the Washington State Ferry System. From there, you can take the ferry to nearby Orcas Island, Lopez Island and Shaw Island. Visit the San Juan Wildlife Refuge, go kayaking, bicycling, whale watching, or sightseeing.
