Plan a Memorable Party Without an Event Planner

You don't need an event planner to plan a really awesome theme based party. What you do need is a creative mind, a little time, and a realistic budget.

I really enjoy planning themed parties because they allow the creative mind to take you to any where you could ever imagine.

For my daughter seventh birthday party I wanted to plan something very feminine and girly being the DIVA that she is. She is really into fashion, makeup, and music. So I planned a sparty (spa party) for her birthday.

The décor and colors were black and white, hot pink, and zebra print stripes. Our party also has a Moroccan type theme based on the placement and type of furniture used as well as the music played.

The room is filled with tea light candles, flowers, and bowls of fresh fruit. There are sounds of relaxing music and smells of potpourri for an excellent brunch.

There are three tables, one for arts and crafts, where upon the girl's arrival and after facials the girls can work on craft projects which will go in gift bags for them to take home.

The second table is full of veggies, fruit trays, and sandwiches like an all you can eat buffet. This table is also decorated with flowers, a tea set, plates, candles, and a punch fountain.

The third and last table is low, with fluffy cushions around it, in which the girls can sit together and receive their manicures, facials, and henna tattoos. This table is nicely decorated, and has magazines for inspired beauty.

The table can also be set with each girl having their own mirror, and or white bath robe. My helping moms have on jeans and matching smocks.

As the girls arrive they are given their robes, and are helped with putting their hair up in a towel. They head to the craft table until all girls have arrived where they begin working on making their own bath salts, body glitter, lip gloss, hand lotion, beading, and foamy flip flops.

Once all girls have arrived they will receive editable chocolate facials, next the girls go stations to station and manicure, pedicure, henna, massage.

Following that, the girls get dressed up, do karaoke, and walk down the red carpet run way, and take Polaroid's that they can take home in their gift bags.

You can even turn this party into a sleep over, mixed Hollywood theme by changing the time from brunch to dinner, and letting the girls do a movie while sitting in their dress up clothes in star chairs, while munching on popcorn, after they have handed in their admit one ticket (double sized and used as an invitation). You can buy popcorn bags or boxes with your own customized label or sticker.

Hollywood signs or a red carpet can be placed outside in the walk way. Posters can be purchased or made for the featured movie, and used as decorations. Finishing up with a trivia game based on the movie, and giving real movie tickets or a fake Oscar Trophies to the winner.
