Plan the Perfect Hawaiian Destination Wedding

If you want to celebrate a wedding that your guests will gossip about for years then Hawaii is the perfect destination. Waterfalls, mountaintops, resorts, villas, beaches...Hawaii has it all. If you take the time to plan, then you can have the perfect Hawaiian wedding destination.

The first thing you want to consider is the location of the ceremony. Do you want to have it on the beach? In the garden or the villa? The options are endless. Explore the internet for location ideas, keeping your budget in mind. It's important to remember that most of the times it's actually cheaper to have a destination wedding as opposed to a wedding in your hometown.

Perhaps the most important thing to do before you proceed any further is to research the legal requirements for marriage for the destination you have chosen. You can check out the State of Hawaii Department of Health website which has all the information about legal requirements.

Once you have chosen your location, and once you are familiar with the legal requirements, you need to choose your hotel or resort. Consider the amenities, number of guests you will be inviting, number of rooms you will need, price range, etc. This task may seem daunting and time consuming, but it is vital if you are going to plan the perfect Hawaiian destination wedding. You don't want to be disappointed in the end. See if the resort offers wedding planners or if they can recommend a wedding planner in the area. Keep track of all the resorts/hotels you look at so you can make an informed decision once you have enough to choose from.

After you have chosen the resort/hotel you need to consider the fine details. When will the wedding take place? Do you want a casual or elegant event? What type of ceremony do you want? What kind of music? Flowers? You need to consider what kind of food you will serve guests, if you want to hire a professional photographer, if you want to provide a babysitting service for guests who bring children (or do you want a no children policy?) The list is endless! You could hire a wedding planner and let them do the organizing, but this is yet another thing that you must decide. You could also plan some activities for your guests to do once they arrive at the destination.

After you have planned your Hawaiian destination wedding you need to invite the guests. You can design your invitations around your destination. For example, you could have a "message in a bottle" invitation.

The only thing left to do is build excitement and wait for the big day. With a lot of planning and a dream, your Hawaiian wedding destination can go down brilliantly.
