Planning for IT

JoAnn Bills
For many companies it is important for them to have a vision for the company and to all that work within the company. If we do not have a vision for our company then it will show lack of strategic alignment, it will tell the workers that they have no clue as to where the company is going.

Having vision is the image that a business must have of its goals before it sets out to reach them. It describes aspirations for the future, without specifying the means that will be used to achieve those desired ends.

In order to have a great company the IT dept must have good leadership, vision, benchmarking, measure to improve, and shared values.

Leadership:

You need to be able to make workers feel more confident so by having a motivated leader this will make the people working with them feel as if they will be able to achieve more goals. We need to be able to, train, identify and mentor in order to become a great leader. (Kotelnikov, n.d.,)

Vision:

As an IT manager I will need to create a bigger vision which elevates the energy and self esteem of everyone within the company while making sure that all of us feel the benefit in following the vision.

Benchmarking:

Our company will need to benchmark itself on a global scale with sales, production, HR. this will help to create a confident environment.

Measuring to improve:

In order for us to become a great company we will need to continuously measure and improve attributes, meritocracy, and fairness and to be open and have an imagination and be great in execution. (Kotelnikov, n.d.,)

Shared Values:

Many companies's practice an enduring value system, and follows the finest system of corporate governance. (Kotelnikov, n.d.,)

These are just few examples of some of the methods that are used when understanding the corporate IT environment. Although there are many other different methods when trying to come up with different strategies that will work for your company, the above are just a few examples of what IT management should start with when bringing in new ideas for business growth.

Information technology management how it has become integral part of the overall corporate strategies of major companies:

In order for the IT corporate strategy to work it needs have a good corporate strategy first, the reason why it has now become important for us to understand the IT management corporate strategies is because of the powerful IT tools, examples like customer databases can influence the strategy.

But we still have to face some of the overall objectives to define the ends for which IT can provide the means. And the number of companies with clearly envisaged, robust strategies is astonishingly small, even at the top end of the corporate spectrum. (Heller, 2006-07-08,)

Corporate strategy and the IT management dept has through the years grown because of the way in which the company can orient itself and how it works with other companies.

After researching Microsoft System Center I found that the IT management applications were designed to address problems by providing and capturing the knowledge about business applications and what the IT and how it infrastructures to be managed more effectively and control the corporate IT environment. (Rubens, 2010,)

It is used by managing the Windows systems and applications that are being built within the system center and that come directly from Microsoft developers that are writing the codes for those applications and sever.

The result of this has many companies that implement the System Center it has given companies the opportunity to optimize and manage existing systems, and to be able to carry out many complex tasks with more efficiently and introduce new services that will help them established there best practices.

With some System Center tools that are beginning to release betas of 2010 versions, we're going to look at the 2007 versions, which are available to the public now. (Rubens, 2010,)
