Plus, the people who frequent the site are extremely friendly and are very supportive. They make you feel welcome and are happy to answer any questions you may have about starting a VA business.
Within a couple of hours of joining and posting in the introduction thread, several members welcomed me to the site, including Tawnya who founded VANA. To me, that shows great activity and that people actually utilize the board.
There is an abundance of topics covered within the board (I still haven't covered them all), but some key ones that really stuck out to me include Logo Design, Tips & Tricks on various software packages, Tax & Legal support, and Funds/Grants for starting your VA business. You can also submit your website to their VA web directory, to help get the word out about your home business.
They also offer some free training seminars from key speakers, where you will learn from the veterans in the field. This aspect of VANA alone is worth joining. There is no better way to learn, then from those that have already succeeded in the field. Between the bulletin board and the training seminars, you will be on your way to becoming a successful VA.
Now, for the biggest surprise of all (drum roll please), they post available jobs also. So you can also find potential clients on VANA also. All of this combined makes VANA one of the top resources for both learning and experienced VA's. I truly do not think I would be so well prepared for a career as a Virtual Assistant if it were not for VANA.
