Halloween is one of the many holidays that people choose to have their wedding on. While many choose not to have it on the actual day of Halloween due to the day of the week, many couples get as close to the date as possible and build the theme around it.
Fall has magnificent colors to work with in regards to the flower selection for a Halloween wedding. Tiger Lilies, Orange Blossoms, and peach colored flowers all will work well. You can use deep reds, dark blues, browns, and to contrast use paler colors to mix in such as light orange or light blue.
For decorations you can hang spiders from the ceiling, fake nets or skeleton figures on the walls. You can get a few branches, arrange them into a vase and hang place cards shaped like such things as ghosts, witches or pumpkins from them using string. Along the aisles you can put big pumpkins and have the flower girl sprinkle leaves versus flowers down the aisle. Chairs can have orange bows tied to them or have skeleton figures attached to the ends of the rows. The ring Bearer pillow can be an inverted (although clean) pumpkin top. It will already have a stem on it so it would be very easy for the ring bearer to carry it.
For a different type of centerpiece, try having smaller sized pumpkins hallowed out. Carve either the table number into the pumpkin or a spooky face. Place the pumpkin on a square glass mirror and put an orange candle inside of it. Surround the pumpkin with a few leaves or candy pumpkins to finish the look.
If you are going for a more festive style guest list, encourage the guests to come in their costumes. You can tie games and giveaways to this theme. The bride and groom should also be dressed the part such as having the Groom can be dressed like Count Dracula. The Bride can be dressed like Morticia Addams, with or without a black dress. They do make white dresses that look similar to the dress Morticia wore on the Addams family. Children will especially love that idea.
You have more of a variety of food choices that will definitely please your guest's taste buds. If you are planning on serving Hor dourves, try serving such things as deviled eggs or Severed Finger Sandwiches. To create those, you will have to cut a hotdog in two pieces and wrap the bottom half (side closest to the cut) with pre made croissant dough. Wrap the "finger" so only about ¾' remains. Put a dab of ketchup on the end of the "finger" to simulate a nail. Put them in the oven and cook to package specifications. You can have your wedding cake made with orange fondant, surrounding it with thing like small candy corns or pumpkins, ribbons with Halloween themes, and you can even have something like propped up coffins as the cake topper. Serve blood red punch, orange champagne, and have snacks that are given names such and Ghoulish Goulash
For favors, try giving mints in a coffin, or have monster cookies. Have Caramel Apples or ghost suckers for the guests. If you want to, you can also have cupcakes made up with orange frosting as well.
Having a Halloween wedding is a unique idea, and it is sure to be one that your guests will never forget!
