Planning the Perfect Beach Trip

Chris Jones
Any trip requires planning, but more importantly, a trip to the beach must be perfect. With the perfect summer weather, everyone needs to take advantage and get their dose of sun. A trip to the beach must be enjoyable, fun and entertaining. The best part is that you can go with family, friends or even a lover. No matter with whom you go, you will have a wonderful time if you take the proper preparations.

The most important step is finding out which beach to go to. It is not as simple as finding out which beach is the closest. You need to do some research that should only take 15 minutes of browsing on the internet. Pay attention to what activities are offered at the beach and if there is a boardwalk or not. How far is it and how available is parking. Furthermore, try to look into if there is an active life guard on duty since that can greatly reduce your trip to the beach into a disaster. Finally, check the popularity of the beach and see what previous visitors have to say. Is it clean or completely nasty that you might puke on the spot?

Next, you need to pack your car and bring essential items. If you are going with family or a group of friends, then it is a good idea to bring some food and drinks since everything is a lot more expensive at the beach. Bring a big rolling cooler and fill it up a couple of ice packs. Stuff a few cans of soda and Snapple. But do not forget water. It will get hot out there and you will want something to rinse your mouth out especially if you get a mouthful of saltwater.

Bring a pair of sunglasses an definitely do not forget the sunscreen. The towel and a change of clothes is certainly preferable. If you are going with a group, it might be a good idea to bring an old boombox or a set of speakers and an ipod. It is a cheap and inexpensive way to get some quality entertainment. Maybe even stuff in a football for the guys. Definitely try to bring some sort of beach related sport or activity. It will make the trip a lot more fun.

As for the families with children, definitely bring shovels. The little pails and shovels are a must! If not, your children are going to end up clawing away at the sand with their bare hands and something is bound to happen, such as cutting their tender hands on a cracked seashell.

Finally, this sounds random, but try to bring an extra pair of flip flops just in case yours gets lost in the water.
