Teens are known to have healthy appetites. So, some kind of food is a must. Consider telling your guest to bring their favorite holiday snack foods. That way all you need to provide is the drinks, paper plates, and cups. These materials can be bought at the dollar store for a really cheap price. Hot chocolate is always a great choice for winter parties. Ask around to find a large hot chocolate maker you can borrow for the party. Candy canes and Christmas cookies are also great choices to make the party festive.
Invitations do not have to be expensive or extravagant. You can easily make invitations on your computer and make copies. Or, the dollar store or other discount stores may have cheap invitations. If the guest list is relatively small, you could be creative and make your own invitations with construction paper. Decorations can also be made without spending too much. Look on the internet for creative ideas for decorations. Some stores may also have cheap Christmas decorations. You can also ask around and borrow decorations from people you know. Don't forget, you can also use old decorations that you may have laying around in a closet or attic.
Activities and games should be planned somewhat in advanced to keep the party going. If you want to do a secret Santa, suggest a $5.00 limit. Or, suggest everyone use their talents and make a gift. Music is a must. Tell your guests to bring their favorite music selections. Try to find some modern Christmas songs, sung by today's hit musicians. A good activity idea would be to try to borrow a karaoke machine from someone you know. Karaoke can be a fun way to get a party started! There are many fun Christmas games online that do not cost a cent. And of course, there is always dancing!
Most importantly, keep a relaxed environment. This is a party, so it does not have to be completely structured. Take ideas from other guests, they may have a good one. Have fun and enjoy the party!
