The weather in Cancun is tropical and humid with temperatures ranging from around 68 degrees to 86 degrees from October through March, and 75 degrees to 91 degrees from April through September.
The hotel zone there runs along a 17-mile stretch of the beach with an ocean or lagoon view on either side. You can find any type of hotel, from a romantic luxury hotel for couples, to the downtown hotels for the low budget traveler. Look out your windows to find a view of either the Caribbean Sea, or the Nichupte Lagoon. Some of the best nightclubs in the world are located in the hotel zone, with something for all ages to enjoy.
Downtown Cancun has the hotels for all budgets. The also have many small local restaurants that serve regional and specialty cuisines. Find bars, and live music venues here also, and do not forget to do a little shopping while your there. Visit the handicrafts market, Mercado 28, or Plaza Las Americas, which is a shopping mall.
While you are in Cancun, make sure you check out some of the culture, such as Mayan ruins and archaeological sites. These sites include the Chichen Itza, Tulum, and Coba, to name a few. The cheapest way to travel is by bus, or you can take a taxi.
With so many things to do, do not forget to take time out to enjoy some of the fun and adventurous water sports. Go scuba diving, snorkeling or fishing off the Great Mesoamerican Reef just off the coast. This reef is the second largest reef in the world. Charter a sailboat that comes with a crew and equipment.
Book a tour or goes mountain biking. Drive through the jungle in open top jeeps, or swim in Cenotes. If you have time do it all. Spend some time at one of more than 30 spa resorts for some much deserved rest, relaxation, and pampering. Take the time and do some golfing at their wonderful golf clubs. Travel 35 km from Cancun and visit the fishing village of Puerto Morelos. You can always find something fun, adventurous or relaxing in Cancun.
If you want to go out and night and have some fun why not try one of the many nightclubs, offering laser light shows, acrobats, and special live acts, with some of the best DJ's from around the world. Check out The City, Coco Bongo, Dady 'O, or the Bulldog Café. The bars in Cancun include Senor Frogs and Carlos n' Charlie's. Let us not leave out the lounge bars available also. Nectar and Thai Lounge are two of these bars. Enjoy the contemporary décor and comfortable seating. Also offered are VIP areas with live DJ's playing calmer music for those of you who just want to sit back and relax with a drink or two. Enjoy some live music venues with everything from jazz, to rock, to salsa. Live rock music can be enjoyed at the Bulldog café or Dady Rock. The Azucar offers salsa and merengue, and Roots offers jazz in the downtown area.
Make sure to plan for your trip to Cancun, or you may just miss out on a few wonderful and exciting features they have to offer. Enjoy their fun, history, culture and wonderful hospitality, and be sure to take pictures to remind yourself of your world-class vacation.
