Planning a Trip to See the Vikings in Minnesota

Cassie B. Adonoson
This year the Minnesota Vikings have surprised and impressed everyone with an 7-1 record, and have famed quarterback Brett Favre. So it's no surprise that people will want to travel to see this team. Here are a couple tips to help you prepare for a trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Getting Here

If you are flying in, of course you'll need to fly into the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. What's great about this is there is a transit system that can take you pretty much wherever you need to go, including a stop at the Metrodome. Just look for the train line, and you are on your way. If you are driving, you just want to take 35W up to the Minneapolis area.

Getting Tickets

How hard it is to get tickets depends on which game you are going to. If you are going to see the Bears, you are going to want to get them early. If that's not an option, make sure to check www.stubhub.com for tickets. Otherwise, there are always people selling tickets outside the doors before the game starts. While some are more expensive, if you wait until after the game starts, the ticket price will usually go down.

The Metrodome

The Metrodome is famous for its roof, which looks like a big marshmallow from far away. Let me tell you, it looks like that from the inside too. But it's a cool place to be. While there, make sure you have a dome dog. They are slightly disgusting, but worth having at least once. If that's not your style, nachos at the Cantina are always a favorite.

The atmosphere is great, especially if its a rival game against either the Packers or the Bears. Whenever the Vikings score a touchdown, make sure you watch the board so you know the lyrics to the Vikings song. And you'll want to join in.

What Else To Do

When the game is over, there are tons of places to head. There are plenty of restaurants around that people frequent. The Old Spaghetti Factory is a favorite. If you are looking to head out to the bar scene, head down Washington Avenue for your choice of bars. There are also restaurants down that street as well.

There are plenty of things to do in Minneapolis and there are always people around to help you if you aren't sure where to go.

Enjoy the game!
