People in the study covered their warts with duct tape for six days. After the six-day they soaked their wart in water and then they gently rubbed the wart with an emery board. Most people repeated this process for up to two months or until the warts were gone.

Using the duct tape to treat children who have warts was an easier treatment. Most children had pain when freezing was done to treat their warts. Some children are afraid of the freezing method to remove warts. Using duct tape on a child's wart causes no pain at all and they do not have any fear. This makes it easier to treat a child who has warts.
