Pistachios are a good source of protein and can help form part of a healthy diet. Planters provide a wide range of snacks, most notably, bags and jars of peanuts. But are Planters Flavour Grove Jalapeno Pistachios worth a try?
Price
I recently purchased two bags of Planters Flavour Grove Jalapeno Pistachios for $1 for each 134g (4.75 oz) bag. They looked appealing and they were also affordable. Pistachios often cost a lot more, which is why I was so keen to try this product.
Heart Healthy Pistachios
Planters recommend their product and suggest that by eating 1.5 oz per day of nuts, such as pistachios, this may help to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Caution
Planters Flavour Grove Jalapeno Pistachios is manufactured on equipment that also processes peanuts and other tree nuts. If you are allergic to peanuts you will need to exercise caution, as eating these pistachios may exacerbate your allergies.
Nutrition Facts
Each 28g (1 oz) edible portion serving of Planters Flavour Grove Jalapeno Pistachios contain 160 calories, 110 of which are from fat, 1.5g saturated fat, 3.5g polyunsaturated fat, 6g monounsaturated fat, no cholesterol, 125mg sodium, 280mg potassium, 8g carbohydrate, 3g dietary fibre, 3g sugar and 5g protein. You will also receive 2% of your daily vitamin C allowance, along with 2% calcium and 4% iron from each serving.
Planters Flavour Grove Jalapeno Pistachios is low in saturated fat, cholesterol-free and a good source of dietary fibre and protein, making this a fairly healthy snack.
Taste Test
I usually only eat products containing jalapenos rarely, but I was feeling brave when I purchased this product. From the first bite, I was hooked. I could taste the jalapenos, but I could also taste the garlic used to season them, which I found really appealing.
Recommendation
I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of Flavour Grove Jalapeno Pistachios, even though I am not a big fan of jalapenos. Each bite was packed full of garlic, jalapenos and other tasty seasonings. The price was also just right at $1, which is a lot less than you would normally expect to pay for pistachios. I would therefore recommend this product.
