Also known as water hyssop or herb-of-grace, the coastal water-hyssop is from the figwort family of plants. It is native to the United States and botanically known as Bacopa monnieri.

Coastal Water-hyssop Description
Growing under a foot tall, this flowering plant has small white flowers that have a bluish or pinkish hue to them. Oval leaves are small and shiny. Flowers are bell-shaped and solitary, with a bloom season between April and September. This plant has a spreading, mat-forming, growth pattern.
Growing Guide
This perennial prefers to grow in full sun or partial shade and in moist or wet sandy places. It should be propagated by clump division.
Distribution
This native is found in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. It is seen among stream margins, wet sands, and mud flats.
Butterflies Attracted
This is a larval host plant for the White Peacock butterfly.
Uses
This plant does well in water or bog gardens. It also is a fine hanging basket plant or as a ground cover.
