The Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset features a single button for beginning and ending calls, redialing numbers and voice-activated dialing. Its battery offers up to 6 hours of uninterrupted call time and up to 100 hours of standby time. The Voyager 510 features a noise-canceling microphone, offering exceptional sound quality.
The Voyager 510 works with multiple Bluetooth devices, allowing users to switch seamlessly between two Bluetooth audio devices with multipoint technology. This feature is unavailable on most other Bluetooth headsets. With the Voyager 510's multipoint technology, a user can switch between a voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset is able to detect which device is being used and allows the user to take calls from that device at the touch of a button. With the use of the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter, a user can switch between an office phone and Bluetooth mobile phone, eliminating the need for a separate landline headset.
The Voyager 510 is comfortable enough so that it can be worn all day. The boom swivels for comfortable positioning and can be worn on either ear. The Voyager 510 also folds for easy storage.
Comparison
The Voyager 510 is slightly larger than its competitor, the Motorola HS850. However, it offers added comfort and multiple options. The Voyager 510 comes with 3 different ear pieces so that you can get the most comfortable fit for your ear.
The Voyager 510 doesn't fold up as small as the Motorola HS850, which can be folded small enough to fit into your pocket. However, the Voyager 510 is durable and can withstand slight wear and tear associated with being carried and stored unprotected.
The Motorola HS850 also offers a smaller and sleeker design that the Voyager 510. However, given the Voyager 510's other features, its benefits outweigh its drawbacks. I recommend the Voyager 510 over the Motorola HS850.
The Jabra BT500 Bluetooth Headset offers a longer talk time of up to 8 hours than the Voyager 510. The Jabra BT500 also offers sleek new styling, setting it apart from other headsets. However, it does not offer the technological features that the Voyager 510 offers. Unless you are making your purchase decision on looks alone, I recommend the Voyager 510.
Price
The Voyager 510 is available at stores including Target and Wal-Mart. Amazon currently offers the best price on the Voyager 510, selling it for just $41.99. A warranty is always recommended when available, to avoid any defects or other issues.
