Plants vs. Zombies - Computer Game Review

Walter Kovacs
Plants Vs. Zombies is a fun game where you use plants with special powers to defend your home from zombies. Different plants have different powers. Certain plants will preform better against certain zombies. An example is if the zombies are flying balloons, you are going to want a four leaf "Blover". It will blow the zombies away, as well as the fog that may surround you.

Plants Vs. Zombies is sort of addicting. Once you begin to play, you won't be able to stop. You will want to work your strategies and defeat as many zombies as you can. Be warned, once you download the demo of this game, you are going to want to buy it.

Plants Vs. Zombies is fun because it gives you complete control of how you play. If you want to stock up on Sun Plants, which give you power to create plants, you can. If you want to use up more of your space with attack plants like Sno-Peas (which make the enemy slow down) or Repeaters (which fire lots of shots in a short period of time), you could do that too. This adds a personal style to the game that makes it a lot more fun.

The graphics of Plants Vs. Zombies are fantastic. They run a 3D accelerator that draws a lot of CPU, but they don't skip at all. They are vibrant colors, very similar to Peggle or Peggle Nights. It seems like this game could have been drawn by the same person who drew those two fantastic games.

There is also the option to buy special power-ups. There are power-ups like a rake, which you can put down on the ground. The rake will injure zombies by hitting them in the face when they step on it. This helps a lot, because it knocks anything off the head of a zombie. Zombies will often wear traffic cones, buckets, or football helmets. The rake will knock these off, making the zombies much easier to kill.

This game is a lot of fun, and it won't cost you too much. I would rate this game a 4.5 our of 5. I only rate out of 5 stars instead of 10 because this isn't a full fledged game. It isn't a Call of Duty or a Halo. If I were you, I would buy this game, but I'm not you. If you like knocking off zombie heads, this is your game. If you like strategy, this is your game. If not, maybe not.
