Plants Vs Zombies: How to Cope with the Addiction

Don't Let the Zombies Eat Your Brains!

Don't let the zombies eat your brains! It's fine to give in, but not all the time. Know when to stop and stop while you can!

I'm personally battling the addiction of Plants vs Zombies because it's strategic challenges have me hooked to my PC all night long. But you and I both know we're only human and we can't fight these zombies right if we're not in-shape. We need to eat, sleep and for some of us, we need to earn a living. This game is so addicting, I won't be surprised if some idiot sued PopCap Games for it! But I survived my addiction and you can too.

It's rather tough but rest those zombie weary eyes for another night of shooting peas. That's the best strategy to win this game in the least amount of time!

Step 1: Use an alarm clock.

It's like budgeting. Set the amount of time you want to play. It can be 3 to 8 hours. The important thing is, set a specific time for it. Start the timer simultaneously when you open the program. And when it rings, take a deep breath, click menu to be sure your game is saved, then close the program. Exit. It's a difficult word to get used to when it comes to PVZ, but you can do it! Believe in yourself.

Step 2: Chant this to yourself - My game is saved. My game is saved. My game is saved.

The first time I opened PVZ, I couldn't stop with the fear that my game won't be saved. I thought, oh no, if I stop playing, I'll have to start all over again. No no no no! That's the worse mindset. Unlike other games, momentum isn't as important in PVZ. We strategic thinkers don't rely on momentum to protect our brains from being zombie fodder. In fact, a break is good since it calms you down and with all kinds of warfare, panic is a no no.

Just always remember that your game is saved and you can let go more easily.

Step 3: Get a life.

Yes. This to me is the hardest. I don't have much of a life myself. But you know, chores, duties and the regular 9-5 job keep the mind busy and keeps it off PVZ. Distraction is necessary to overcome the addiction. Engage yourself in other activities. Set a meeting half an hour after your alarm clock goes off so you'll be forced to stop. PVZ is a great game but don't make it your life. You need a life outside of it.

Go ahead. Shoot those peas and fight those zombies, but know when to stop so you can live to fight another day. To play is human. To stop is divine. Hehehe

Have a fun life!
