Plastic Surgeon Aids in Recovery of Pug - Fort Worth, TX

It was a big day for little Boca, a canine whose jaw was shattered recently.

The dog, who is recovering nicely has a way of winning hearts with her gaze, according to Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue's Facebook administrator Nancy Medina. Her wagging tail and loving spirit made her an instant favorite among staff, she says.

Dr. Larry Gumfory at Westcreek Animal Clinic helped in the animal's recovery by conducting two jaw surgeries plus after care.

After the operations the doctor went a step further because he wasn't satisfied with the results and offered to rebuild Boca's jaw.

"Boca was a perfect lady through all the procedures," states Medina. "Immediately after surgery her jaw was already looking better."

The creature had a whole team working on her, including her foster mom and cardiac animal nurse, Debra.

DFW Pug Rescue located in Grapevine, TX relies solely on public contributions and fundraisers and has other happy stories to share, too, like a pug originally named Socks who now goes by Charlie, adopted in 2009 by Jessica and Daniel Adams and a dog named Greta Garbo who made her new home six or seven years ago with a man named Gerald.

A Scentsy fundraiser is going on through Feb. 28 for the organization benefiting rescue pugs. To participate, look up https://kylene.scentsy.us/Home.

"Unfortunately her mom was the victim of a terrible homicide and she is no longer here," states the agency's website. "Her favorite thing to do is eat and she spends most of her days relaxing on the couch waiting for her owner to come home."
