Playaz Circle's Supply & Demand: Early Album Review
Will These Disturbing the Peace Members Be the Next Big Thing in Rap?
The first single off of Supply And Demand is the club anthem Duffle Bag Boy featuring Lil Wayne. The single is extremely catchy and popular. The song features a blistering beat produced by M16. The song features a very strong chorus from southern rap superstar Lil Wayne.
U Can Believe It features Disturbing The Peace leader Ludacris. The song features a 70's soul sample. The beat is solid while the lyrics are just OK. The chorus is fairly catchy but the verses are just lacking. Ludacris drops the hottest verse on the track though which is to be expected.
Ludacris also appears on Betta Knock. The song is not all that great. The beat is highly annoying and repetitive. The verses from Playaz Circle are also sub-par. The chorus provided by Ludacris does not really help the effort whatsoever.
On Gucci Bag Playaz Circle are joined by former label mate Shawnna. The beat is catchy but the lyrics are not the best. Shawnna adds a surprisingly strong verse which helps the song out a great deal.
We Workin' is a solid club track. The song is one of the better tracks on the album featuring a verse strong beat. On the track Tity Boi and Dolla Boy go back and forth trading short verses. This is one of the tracks with the strongest chemistry between the two rappers. The chorus is repetitive enough but it works under these circumstances.
#1 Trap Pick is a traditional street anthem track. The song features the ostentatious nature that rap has become. The song features little quips which will drive conscious rap fans crazy; however when you listen to Playaz Circle you know that is not their style.
Overall Supply And Demand is a mixed bag. The album features a few very good songs and a lot of sub-par material. Supply And Demand gets 6.5 out of 10 stars. If you're a fan of Playaz Circle, make sure you check out its debut album Supply And Demand.
