Playboy Mansion Vistors Sick - 77 so Far?
The Playboy Mansion hosted an event for the annual DOMAIN fest Global conference. A number of the people who had gotten sick told reporters and also posted it on Facebook that they believe they contracted the sickness from this fundraiser event at the Playboy Mansion. The conference had events being held all over town.
The Department of Public Health has sent emails out to all participants of the Conference stating they have received reports of a possible respiratory infection outbreak among attendees at the conference, which had several other event locations besides the Playboy Mansion.
Some of the Playboy Mansion party goers believe it was the fog machine set up at the Playboy Mansion that was the source of this illness. So far there are 77 names to the list of people who have fallen ill with the same symptoms. The symptoms are flu like with fever, headache, dry cough, and back spasms.
According to the LA Times, many who are falling ill are comparing their symptoms to Legionnaires Disease, or Pontiac fever, a milder form of Legionnaires disease. This type of disease is caused by bacteria growing in warm water, such as hot tubs, swimming pools, parts of air conditioning systems. The disease is inhaled in water vapor and is not spread from person to person, according to the LA Times.
The organizer of the event is reminding people not jump the gun and let the Health Officials do their job to find the source of this reported illness before pointing fingers. The exact source needs to be found before a definite origin can be established.
