Playboy's Sexiest Sportcaster: Will Erin Andrews Repeat ?

Who is Rachel Nichols? Erin Andrews? Melissa Stark? Charissa Thompson? Lisa Guerrero? Sage Steele? Ashley Russell?

If you are a guy (and at the risk of sounding sexist with the assumption), you more than likely already know who the aforementioned women are. If you are not a guy, you may not. And when you find out who they are and what they are associated with, you might not even care. But a lot of guys care.

Because women like Erin Andrews, Rachel Nichols, Charissa Thompson, and Sage Steele are nexi - they are where the male libido meets the male need for competition. They're sportscasters. Beautiful, sexy sportscasters. Representatives of where the two things most men think about most often - women (sex) and sports - meet.

Mixing sex with sports is nothing new. It worked when the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders were revealed. It worked when Sports Illustrated decided to do a Swimsuit Issue. The Lingerie Bowl has been played for five years (soon to be six) and has been expanded into an actual footlball league with teams that will begin playing actual games this year. And, of course, Playboy magazine has been bringing us revealing shots of sports stars, cheerleaders, and ex-sports whatevers for years. Now it is time that Playboy found out who people think is the sexiest sportcaster.

Last year, Erin Andrews simply ran away with the polling and won the 2008 Sexiest Sportscaster poll. Of course, she is included in the list of 30 sexy sportscasters that are up for the 2009 Sexiest Sportscaster as well. But she's facing some stiff competition (because, let's face it, when have you ever seen anything less than beautiful associated with Playboy?). All the aforementioned sportscasters are on the list, as well as the inestimable Pam Oliver of CBS Sports, Hannah Storm of ESPN, Colleen Dominguez of ESPN, Hazel Mae of the MLB network, and Tiffany Simons of NBC. Back in 2000, Playboy initiated the Sexiest Sportcaster poll, and CBS' Jill Arrington won. This year, each poll participant is allowed to choose and voter for up to three of their favorite sportscasters.

J. J. Jack at Oddjack.com complained that it was "Too bad you can't vote for NOPI TV reporter Charity Hodges." This writer would have to agree, except for one thing...

You can even make your candidate a write-in if you don't see your favorite sexy sportscaster on the list of Playboy finalists. Don't blame Mr. Jack for missing his cue, he was obviously distracted...
