Players Get Their Tongues Stuck on New Solitary 3.0

Reality Rehash
The last Solitary 3.0 saw Pod 9 leave after crawling through several unneeded penalty rounds. Although Pod 9 left the game, Pods 4 and 7 were still crawling, unaware they could quit without any harm. They both lasted 12 rounds before Val picked up the pace and claimed they were at the "midway point". Neither would go if they quit yet continued crawling through the pain. It's strange to watch grown men crawling on the floor but I guess that's what you gotta do for $50,000 (which I still feel is way too small a prize for what they go through). After 20 rounds Pod 4 finally received his first penalty round and pushed through it in obvious pain. RobRob is a huge fan of the show and vowed to never push the red button, but it's probably best for his body if he did on this one. Before beginning his second penalty Pod 4 pushed the red button, quitting the treatment yet staying int he game. He was full of excitement, glad that he stayed but still in the pain he pushed himself through.

With the guys off their knees and the girls finished tanning it was time to enter the anti pod. There the players sit and wait while Val sets up their pods for challenges and tasks. The final four waited and waited in the anti pod for five hours before returning to their pods. All claimed they would be winning the money but at that point in time they were given the chance to win a four course meal. The challenge was rock/paper/scissors and they would be competing against each other. Pod 3 and Pod 4 were up first with Pod 4 moving onto the final match. That left Pod 7 and Pod 8 to compete with Pod 7 winning as well, putting the two guys in the finals. It was down to initial pod mates and Pod 4 took home the meal, ordering a full course breakfast which he loved. While he ate his breakfast the other three got their famous meal bar, causing Pod 8 to flip. She couldn't take not eating and was missing home. Val told her to go home if she couldn't take it but Pod 8 decided to stay when the bed flew out of the wall.

After some sleepy time the guests were awoken to several shirts scattered across the floor. The challenge was to put on all 48 shirts, similar to a famous YouTube video. The first person to put on all shirts won them a spot in the final three and freedom from the treatment. While Pods 3, 4, and 7 used a separating strategy to select what shirt to put on first, Pod 8 just put on any random shirt regardless of size. She was in the lead, but if she had her smallest size in the end there was no way they could fit. With the heat increased it became more and more difficult for the players as they moved onto their last few shirts. Pod 8 gave up half way though after almost choking herself while Pod 4 almost passed out due to the heat. He took off the shirts one by one, leaving Pod 3 and Pod 7 as the last two remaining. Putting their last shirt on around the same time it came down to who pushed the Green Button first. Pod 3 won her second safety in a row, sending her to the Top 3. Could she be the first female winner of Solitary after almost quitting early on? It surely is possible and wouldn't be a bad thing either!

Free from their shirts and missing human contact Val gave the final four a robotic dog. It was some sort of kids toy which all but Pod 3 seemed to like. With their hopes boosted it was time for Val to recreate the alphabet. I'm sorry I mean Valphabet. Each letter represented a different word that related to Solitary and the words flashed by rather quickly. The point of memorizing the words had to do with the treatment and it was rather important considering the loser would not make it to the final three. For the treatment Val became a teacher and introduced a "glass of pain" into the pods. What they had to do was write the word representing a letter backwards, so Val could read it. If they were wrong their face would have to go against the glass for the remainder of the treatment. After failing to get Quit for Q, both Pod 7 and Pod 8 were gone of their safety. Pod 7 was the first to have his face against the glass and had to keep it there. Removing his face equaled a quit, meaning one false move could cost them the game.

Following a false spelling of octagon Pod 8 joined Pod 7 against the glass. Pod 4 continued to answer the words correctly, leaving his face glass free until he answered all 26 letters. Although Pod 4 got all words correct he still had to place his face on the glass, joining the other two. After wasting some time against the pane, Val made a new rule: their tongues had to remain on the glass for the remainder of the treatment. After more time elapsed their hands were removed from the glass as all were approaching the two hour mark. While the guys talked about pushing the button Pod 8 said she could remain in the game for the long haul. Her positive attitude didn't last too long though as she was the first to remove her tongue, forcing her to push the red button and sending her out of the game. Pod 8 enjoyed her time in the game and realized that she learned how to be calm with herself. Meditation is the one main thing Pod 8 will take from Solitary as she leaves behind the final three.
