Playing the Part

These Are Actors Not Living Persons

sherrie Hurd
Dreams are not quite what they seem
they are more than that
while your waiting for the truth
go put on your little top hat

dont be shy and dont be rude
just dance with me tonight
remember how this play began
dont cry about our plight

I wish that i could help you
and you could help me too
my love for you will never end
and my wardrobe will be true

Please stay right here for just
awhile and hold me close you see
my costume is my forgiveness
my lines are just my plea

So know that its ok now
and everything is right
just paint those cold red smiles
to entertain the night
you see, you see the light
the spotlight shines

Go get dressed
the curtain's rising
straighten your tie
and wipe those eyes
the music begins
the dream ends
