Playing Video Games Can Lower Your Car Insurance Premium
You Can Save Money on Your Auto Insurance Policy by Playing Video Games
According to an article on PR-Canada.net entitled Playing Video Games Can Lead To Cheaper Car Insurance Quotes, AllState car insurance recently held a trial where they sent out one hundred thousand copies of the video game called InSight to elderly policy holders. Developed by Posit Science, InSight is a video game that was "designed to improve the mental awareness of older drivers." This is because playing video games "allow drivers to enhance their acuity, hasten their reflexes, and strengthen their memory."
Playing video games reinforces the neural pathways in the brain dealing with motor skills. Having stronger neural pathways in these areas in the brain results in having a slightly quicker hand eye coordination. On the road this translates into being a safer driver, and being less likely to be involved in a car accident.
Not only is in the best interest of the policy holder by receiving a discount off of their car insurance premium to play video games, it is in the car insurance companies' as well. That's because according to a recent study there was "an 18 percent increase in the number of drivers between the ages of 65 or older in the last 10 years." With more elderly drivers on the road than ever, by having safer drivers "the number of auto accidents could potentially decrease." Car insurance companies will lower their yearly car insurance premium to policy holders that are more likely to save earn them more money by being safe.
Do not jump to your phone and call your car insurance company expecting a discount off of your yearly insurance premium just because you own an Xbox 360 or PS3 at home. AllState is currently the only company that is offering this program. As time goes on, more car insurance companies may decide to let their insurance policy holders try similar programs with either InSight or a different video game.
