Playstation 3: Best Product Ever!

A Favorite Product that Could Use Some Change for the Future

One of the products that I am a huge fan of is the Playstation (PS) 3 gaming system. I can do almost anything with the PS3. This extraordinary piece of technology gives you the capability to do more than just play remarkable 3-deminstional games that will keep you enticed for hours. The PS3 allows you to converse with others online through Bluetooth while you play. In addition, I love this technology because you can load music, pictures, games, and search the internet. Let's not forget the unbelievable amount of hard drive space available (my PS3 contains 80GB of space). Lastly, this gaming system has a wonderful Playstation online store that allows you to buy movies, games, and music to download onto the system. Like I said it is an unbelievable piece of technology that is unmatchable. However, there is a couple problems associated with the PS3 that if I had the opportunity to change I would.

If I had the opportunity to change anything with the PS3 I would change three specifically. First, I would upgrade the operating system to allow the availability of downloads off the internet. For example, if I was on the internet via the PS3 and I wanted to download a file onto the hard drive I should be able to. Now you may be asking yourself if you own a PS3; can't I already do that? Yes to a point. You can download music files, picture files, and gaming files. However, you cannot download normal personal computer (PC) type files that you would be able to download on your PC at home. The PS3, for as much as it costs, should be more like a gaming system/personal computer where you can do computing alike. The question is though, if adding a Microsoft operating system like a computer would raise the already high price of the PS3? Unfortunately, I believe it would as Microsoft would want to profit like any other company would. This may be out of question for Playstation, but I believe it would be a more profitable venture into the world of technology.

Second, I would allow the PS3 to have Bluetooth capability. Now it does have Bluetooth ability, but only for the purpose of conversing with others online during gaming. What I am speaking of is more advanced. I believe Playstation, like a cell phone, should allow you to search for other Bluetooth devices and transfer files as a Bluetooth capable cell phone allows. I believe this would be cost effective and allow Playstation an even bigger jump on the future of Bluetooth technology. This would be a huge plus for Playstation and guarantee a huge profit margin with this alone. Now if Playstation combines this with the PC upgrade as I spoke of previously, they have themselves and computer capable gaming system that could easily sale for close to $800 and be well worth it.

Thus far I have spoken about PS3 upgrades to make the system even better. Ultimately with what they have now needs some pointers on the games. Don't let me confuse you the games they have are amazing for the most part. However, unlike the Xbox 360 the games seem to always be the last to come out. Whenever a new game is released it immediately goes out to Xbox players first. There are some pretty hot games out there for the Xbox and are not available on the PS3. PS3 needs to get on the ball and start publishing games faster than the Xbox or at least at the same time. This would make PS3 more competitive with Xbox and allow more gaming for the PS3 player. For example, a game that is available on the Xbox that is not available on the PS3, that should be, is the Halo games. This is a perfect example of PS3 falling behind the power curve. PS3 has tried to create games like Halo 3, but unfortunately I don't believe they have met the match.

You may be asking, didn't you say you loved the PS3 and how it was one of your favorite products? I did and still believe the PS3 gaming system is one of its kind and a huge step into the gaming world of technology; I am just merely providing ideas for PS3 to create a more perfected gaming system that would make them far and beyond any other gaming system out there. Make it compatible with everything! Then again, like my father always said, "Want in one hand and s_ _t in the other; which one fills up faster." I am a true believer in that quote and that is exactly what I am doing. So if you ever have the opportunity to buy a PS3 do it. It is worth every penny. In fact I am going to go play the PS3 now, ciao.
