Please Come Back

PLEASE COME HOME (PT. 1)

So, I sat down and wrote her a letter

And I guess I should have known better,

But I just had to know

What the past two decades had brought her

And how things were with our daughter

And how she had grown.

She wrote back and I could instantly tell

The past twenty years must've really been hell,

But that wasn't all.

Instead of wasting many days and wages

For the next set of, who knows how many, pages,

I decided to call.

Her voice was as sexy as I always remembered

When I met her during that cold November

Too many years to repeat.

We talked for hours and hours about Kim

And even a little bit about him.

We decided to meet.

I don't know how I found my way to that park,

But when our eyes met there was a spark

That started the fire.

A fire I hadn't felt in a long, long time.

One that told me she had to be mine.

It ignited my desire.

Years passed since our bodies last touched,

But both of us wanted it so very much.

It was more than love.

Her smell, her smile, her ravenous kiss

Were just a few things I forgot I missed

And never thought of.

As we laid there basking in the glow,

Of a passion we knew so long ago,

We began to talk.

About the old days and the new days

And how there were only a few days

Left for us to chalk.

So, we decided to give it a try

And every night she laid by my side.

Her heart was mine to keep.

Being together was finally a dream come true

And everyone was happy, because they all knew

Our love was so deep.

But the stress of balancing her two lives

Cut into our love like butcher knives.

Our hearts were broken.

We held each other and cried that day

When she told me she had to move away.

No other words were spoken.

I had to be patient and wait for her return

While she took care of this one concern.

I was so all alone.

Through my rain-soaked window, I watched the empty street

And prayed that our happiness again would meet.

My love, please come home.
