Please Consider It

Nancie Norton
As I sit here waiting for a delivery of Dialysis solution
for my Daughter...( because she started a new job
today ) and the company delivers by appointment
only, she asked me to come over to wait and sign for
the delivery...These are my thoughts............

Wind chimes,
Play a song
as I sit here,

considering life

And thinking, of my Daughter,
and all she's been through.
And still.....

She is strong........

Dialysis,
A foriegn word to most people.
One we never grasp the importance of,
Until it is needed by, Someone we love

To stay alive

Even now,
It seems so foriegn
The thought that without dialysis
my Daughter will

Die......

My miracle child
who survived, a car backing
over her body, at the age of
Two and a half.

My miracle child,
who survived with, a fractured femur
After being hit by, a car
When she was eight.

My miracle child,
who survived a rollover wreck,
without a seatbelt, not long ago.
She has come through this,

For a reason........

So I have to believe that
This too,
She will survive!

A kidney Transplant

is what she needs
But the wait is long.

It breaks my heart
to see all that she has
to go through, while she waits

for a new Life..........

If you've never thought about Organ donation
Please consider it, There are so many people
out there just like my Daughter....Some Die
before they can be saved, by an organ transplant.........

Such an important message in this one, I remember when my thoughts on organ donation were much different. I always said no way, they aren't cutting me up or if I'm a donor they will let me die faster, not try to help me.....Then my dad got sick and needed a heart, I quickly realized how serious it is for those waiting and became an organ donor. It may not be my dads life I save but if there is a chance I want to help someone out there. I am praying for your daughter, thank you for this poem. may everyone who reads it sign up to be an organ donor!

You and your daughter must be truly special to have been given all of this to endure. This is beautiful Nancie, I admire your courage. :)
