Please Don't Buy a Bunny

For Easter this year
if you love little bunnies
and think they're cute
and fuzzy and cuddly

Go to the store
and buy a few plushies
that don't eat or drink
Please don't buy a bunny

Bunnies are cute
and cuddly it's true
but they need lots of love
and shelter and food

When the novelty's gone
the bunny's still there
he'll be all grown up soon
and still need your care

And when he gets sick
time to go to the vet
can you shell out the money
to help your sick pet?

If you really love bunnies
and got what it takes
to keep your own rabbit
and make no mistakes

Buy a cute bunny
or maybe adopt
a dwarf or angora
or maybe a lop

But if you're cannot
then please stop and think
Bunnies aren't fads
they eat and they drink

Go to the store
and buy a few plushies
that don't live and breath
Please don't buy a bunny

There are many rabbits that have been taken to animal shelters and put to sleep because nobody would give them a home. Many of those rabbits are often Easter presents that have grown up and lost their novelty.
