Right before the latest Survivor was voted off the island I saw a commercial for the new Pledge Fabric Sweeper for pet hair. I immediately knew that I had to try this product. I have two kitties and my couches and bed are always covered in black fur. For years, I had been trying to combat the problem with lint rollers. Every morning I would lint roll the couch and lint roll the comforter on my bed and my pillow covers. I could easily go through a 60 sheet lint roller in about a week and at almost $4 a pop. That can really start to add up.
The Pledge Fabric Sweeper for pet hair claims to be as sticky as 145 lint roller sheets and can be used on furniture, fabric, clothing, and even in cars. I do have to stop here and say that my friend who has also become a fan of this product and I both had to laugh that on the box it does specifically tell you that it CAN NOT be used on your pets. The key to this product is the self cleaning dual rollers that pick up the pet hair and then push it inside the roller. The top of the roller is clear so that you can see when it becomes full and it is time to change to a new roller.
At, first I was a little skeptical. I have tried many things in my eight years of owning pets that claim to help control the pet hair all over your house and none of them ever really worked. However, the pledge fabric sweeper finally lived up to its promise. You just slide it back and forth in short strokes over the piece of furniture you want to clean and you can immediately see the pet hair begin to accumulate in the clear cover of the roller. I just finished my first roller and had been using it for almost a month. That is a lot better than buying a lint brush every week.
The only draw back to the Pledge Fabric Sweeper is that it is disposable. There is no way to remove the clear top and throw out the hair that has accumulated so that you can continue to use the same roller. You simply have to throw the old one out completely and purchase a new one.
The price is reasonable though. The store I purchased mine at was selling them for 5.99 but they were on sale for $3.99. In addition, I had a two dollar off coupon that I printed on-line which made my final price $1.99. That is about half the price that I normally pay for one lint roller.. coupled with the fact that the Pledge Fabric Sweeper lasted me a month .. I spent $2 as opposed the normal $16. In addition, there was also a $1 coupon in the box to use toward my next purchase.
I would absolutely recommend the Pledge Fabric Sweeper for any pet owner who has struggled with their pet's shedding in their house. It is easy to use and you can see the results right away. It is also extremely cost effective for how long it lasts.
The official website for the product is www.pledge.com/fabric-sweeper
