OK, so you want to know what gift I secretly hope to receive this year? My answer will definitely make many of you normal folks dismiss me as an immature adult stuck in youthful idealism. Fortunately for me, I am confident to have the approval of my fellow gadget geeks, who will agree with me when I say that this year's number one gift is Pleo, the robotic Camarasaurus.

This little heap of green delight is so realistic, you actually find yourself falling in love with it, the way you would with a real animal. Pleo is capable of expressing a variety of emotions, such as happiness when you pay attention to him or disappointment when he is left to his own devices. Pleo has all the qualities of a pet without the responsibility of having to worry about feeding it or finding it a place to stay when you need to leave home for a while. At the same time, his cries will tug at your heartstrings so much so, that you will feel guilty walking away from him.
