Plies: the Next Big Addition to Rap and Hip Hop

In 1976 a young man named Algernod Lanier Washington was born in the small town of Fort Myers, Florida. Over the past 30 years this small town has grown and so did he. That young man once called Algernod, is now known as Plies and he's one of the most talented musicians to come from Fort Myers and one the best hip hop artists to hail from Florida in recent years.

Plies music would be considered southern, gutter rap and is known for his honest but often times explicit lyrics. Discovered by Slip N Slide records back in 2004 with a song called "Tell Dem Krackers Dat". Plies reportedly, earns $10,000.00 per show based solely on "36 Oz" and "100% Real Nigga" mix-tapes. Although Plies hails from Fort Myers Florida, you may hear him refer to his home-town as "Pakistan", when asked why, this was his response :"Being in a small city like that if you had a problem with someone you were gonna run into them.". Often calling himself a "100% real nigga", Plies has said that who he is isn't an image it's a lifestyle that he maintains 365 days a year. A little over a year ago, Plies owned up to his word on July 2^nd 2006 in Gainesville Florida at the 238 West night club, when he was told his set was going to be cut 15 minutes short so that Lil Boosie Bad Ass could take the stage. In response to the news Plies' entourage fired shots into the crowed resulting in the non life threatening injuries of 5 people. Plies was arrested and later released on 10,000 bail.

There is definitely something different about Plies, not only him but the music he makes. He is very in your face, and translates what can only be understood as truth. While other musicians sing about being someone they want people to believe they are, Plies is who he tells you he is and he's not afraid to back up his claim with actions, saying "Look I'm gonna either be rich or I'm gonna be in prison. There ain't a third option . Which ever comes first, I don't know?"

Plies is expected to release his debut album entitled "The Real Testament" on August 7^th 2007. The Real Testament was originally going to be called "The Real Nigga Bible" but was changed for obvious reasons. The Track listing for the new album is as followed:
