Plowed

Lisa Stanley

I never saw the headlights coming

I never heard the squeals

I never knew what was headed for me

Until I felt the wheels

I didn't want to hear "I'm Sorry"

While I lay bleeding on the ground

I didn't want your tears to touch me

Discovering the mess that you found

I never heard the racing tires

Rushing at me at full speed

I'm only left in a daze

Losing my breath as I bleed
