Plum Beauty Secrets
Using the Natural Cleaning and Refreshing Powers of the Plum to Give You Beautiful Skin and Hair
Every variety of plum has helpful agents that aid in proper skincare, haircare, and a healthy diet. Plums are full of vitamin C, vitamin A, dietary fibers, riboflavin, (vitamin B2), and potassium. Each serving of a delicious plum is another surge of healthy vitamins and minerals right into your body, so you can imagine how good it must be for the outside as well as the inside!
Plums are also pretty famous for being able to use their natural acids in removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. Their inner flesh acts as a smooth natural exfoliating pad and gently strips away the dead layer of skin, revealing softer, younger, brighter skin beneath while nourishing it as well.
There are a couple easy ways to use plums at home for your skin and hair. Even experimenting with this versatile fruit on your own can be very beneficial, because any way you use it, the results are still fantastic. Best of all, it's all natural!
Basic Plum Face Scrub
This is very easy to make and even easier to use! Simply slice a plum in half and remove the pit from inside. Take a small glass dish or bowl, and in it, mix an egg white with some natural cane sugar. (Regular sugar works too, but pure and unaltered is always better!)
Once you've mixed them well, lightly dip the fleshy uncovered side of the plum into the dish. You'll basically be using the plum as a loofah or face sponge, lightly dabbing your face with the mixture. Keep going even after it's worn off a bit, gently evening it out and using the natural juices of the plum to evenly distribute it over your skin.
This is a great and natural way to not only rid your face of dead skin cells, but it can also relieve blemishes and blotches, and has even been known to cure any itching from rashes or insect bites!
Plum Root Treatment
This is specifically designed for your hair. The natural agents in plums are fantastic for healing and rejuvenating flat, lifeless hair follicles and bringing a springy natural bounce to each individual strand of hair.
In a small bowl, squeeze as much plum juice as you can into the bottom. Once you have the bottom of the bowl covered and a bit more too, you might have squeezed the life out of that plum. Now that you have your natural fresh squeezed plum juice, you can add nature's hair tonic; the egg! If you have hair that's dry and frizzy, you can leave the yolk in for an even better moisturizing effect.
After you mix these together, gently massage with your fingertips from the roots of your hair down to the bottom. Massage your scalp softly like this for about 5 to 7 minutes, then rinse in the bath or shower. The results are immediate, and you'll feel great when you're done!
I hope you've enjoyed my plum beauty secrets, and I encourage the readers of my articles to try these methods for themselves! Have fun, and remember; natural is always better!
