Plus Size Teen Clothing Stores

Growing up is difficult especially while trying to fit in with the trends, however it is ten times as difficult when you are curvy and cannot find clothes that fit you and are relevant to your age and the fashion trends. To find plus size teen clothing used to be a very difficult task, yet not so much anymore if you know where to look. The following are five different stores and what to look for and what they provide.

Lane Bryant: This used to be a store only for adults, no more. They always carry very stylish jeans and slacks that range from sizes 14/16 to 26/28. During most seasons you can also count on finding great graphic tees and some stylish blouses as well. They are not a large store so occasionally they do not carry everything you want but they are a great store to start the hunt for plus size teen clothing. They do not tailor their clothing for you however their staff are always pleasant and will point you to good tailors in the area if you need them.

Torrid: Now if you do not have this store in your local malls do not despair they have a website which you can order clothes from as well. This store also only caters to sizes 14 to 28. They also specialize in plus size teen clothing. The fashion here is hip and trendy and for older teens also sexy. You will find everything from classic jeans for every shape, to corsets, and skirts. The staff is a little slow to help, however finding clothes that truly center on teenager's desires is worth the small drawback. The pricing is on level with Lane Bryant, they can be pricey but they have clearance racks which are great.

Macy's: Luckily this store is not located in every state all over the United States. Although usually pricey just visit often and go through the clearance racks to find the clothing you need. The sizes here go from size 14 all the way to 3X for men and women both. Plus size teen clothing is not difficult to find here. They have homecoming/prom dresses, casual clothes, and also business for the working teens. The clothing is all well made and very classy while still sticking with some of the latest fashion trends. The staff is standard department store which means sometime hard to locate but this is still one of my favorite places to buy clothes for any age in plus sizes.

JC Penney's: This is a surprise store to me. I was very surprised when I noticed that the larger JC Penney's start carrying plus size teen clothing. They used to carry plus sizes but usually nothing anyone would be caught dead in, this has changed. You can find from size 14 to 3X in this store and in most of the same designs as the smaller sizes in the store. These clothes are very relevant for teenagers and would give the same impressions and the smaller versions. The prices here are also always reasonable, their sales are also a perk. It has also been my experience at this store in many locations that the staff is always available and very kind.

Target: This one is another shocker, I love Target and all their clothes but they used to be a terrible popcorn scented store. Now they have plus size teen clothing that you see on everybody in school and they even carry bathing suits in larger sizes. The prices are the same as the smaller clothes and very trendy. They have actually started adding fashion designers lines specifically in the store so it is work a peek.

Ultimately although thin always seems in, curvy seems to be catching on and stores are realizing that they must cater to us all. This gives us more selection and trendier clothes because no matter the age we don't want to wear a potato sack. These five stores always have a good selection of clothing that fits today trends in junior high and high school, allowing all the plus size teens to look great no matter what size they are.
