I felt his tongue touch my palm
I fed him with my hands
And he laughed when the loose bits fell to the floor
I fed him with my hands
And he laughed when the loose bits fell to the floor
We touched eyes
And smiled
Because it was called for
And it felt right
The sweet crunches turned playful
And the leftovers were tossed high
Pieces of sweet mess landing on
Our heads
We looked on one another
And grinned
I snorted and he laughed
And this felt good
It felt all right
And I know that moments like these
Are incredibly powerful
Light enough that the memory is fine to carry
Heavy enough that should it dissolve
It will be missed
I will not miss this
I am here
The memory will last
It feels right

Powerful, yet tender. Live those moments that replay in our memories and rejuvenates life for the better - siva
I agree with david too! ;-) (PS Nice to meet another poet here!)
Lovely memories captured in poetry :)
The tongue touching the palm is such a tangible, novel experience (unless there are people who are 'into that' and do it often), and a great way to begin a poem. I could really feel that. Also, I enjoy the analysis of a memory, light enough to bear no burden on the mind, but heavy enough to leave a lasting impression, and one that would be missed. It's a delicate, joyful, yet melancholy poem.
Beautifully eloquent, deeply expressive, and wonderfully poetic. Thanks!
Flowing ... feeling wild and free, very beautiful and earthy...:0)
I agree with David!
If it feels right, it probably is :-}
