Poem for a Friend II

She Now Understands

Dan Reveal
As you go looking for mercy,
don't forget the evening shade moss.
Was life ever that simple
to fit on the tip of the pencil thin gloss?

Just slip on these street lamp shoes,
and you can be the one real winner.
For once upon a time I knew I was loved,
even though I was the one real sinner.

You can still go to the movies,
and not miss out on the human race.
Was she ever really so trusting
to let me place a kiss upon her face?

As you eat from the candy bar toolbox,
don't let the crimes of another plant your seed.
Just read from the book of your loving soul,
and ignore the words that start to bleed.

You can still go to the movies,
and not miss out on the human race.
Was she ever really so trusting
to let me place a kiss upon her face?

[For a friend..she now understands..]

I hope she DOES understand. Life is short, love is eternal, it is good when the two can meet.
