Poem - My Inner Monster

Dina Montgomery
My inner monster is restless today
He won't seem to quiet his nerves
He doesn't seem to want to go away

In my head he snarls and growls
Making me want to only sleep
Inside my head, he continuously prowls

Maybe if I keep myself busy with work
He will finally go away
Inside my head he will no longer lurk

For my inner monster is my anxiety
Trying to keep it under control
Taking care of me, calmly

I know this monster all too well - terrific poem sharing the battle. Best of luck to all who have an inner monster!

We all have our inner monsters. I keep mine at bay by gardening. Physical activity seems to tame those inner demons. At least for me.
