I lock it so close to my body
So close that it burns in my chest
I superglue my reflections to its backside
And trap scalding memories within
Turning complex relations into a single
Manacled rumination
Into manifested trepidation at setting the done free
So close that it burns in my chest
I superglue my reflections to its backside
And trap scalding memories within
Turning complex relations into a single
Manacled rumination
Into manifested trepidation at setting the done free

Great poem. I liked the internal rhyme at the end.
Brilliant and articulate. Powerfully painful.
Beautifully written. Thanks!
Such pain and beauty in your poem. Sad yet powerful... done with great art!
good job! I like this one :)
I love the visual beauty of your poetry.
Very nice. The word 'manacled' reminds me of a William Blake poem that I cannot recall the title to; the line, "mind-forged manacles". Anyway, good poem depicting how we place a concept, an abstraction, onto something material, physical, and drag it behind us forever. When shall we cast it off and worry no more?
