Poem: Lovebirds

Justin Germino
The luminescent green of endless feathers
Eyes reflecting the envy of the sun
Soaring wings through stormy weathers
Two pairs of eyes and beaks are one

A tune is sung that calms the heart
such chirps and whistles orchestrate life
The song is woven like an ancient art
Bringing together both husband and wife

So the birds sing and our hearts do hear
And our endless hopes and dreams rest on a bird
The eyes of hope and wisdom of a seer
The song so pretty can be summed up in one word

Lovebirds
