Poem: Smiles and Dreams

Sherri Thornhill
My sister and brother-in-law have adopted two beautiful, intelligent, loving and kind girls. I am happy as can be to be their Aunt Sherri, so I wrote this poem for them to welcome to them to our family.

Smiles and Dreams (for M & M)

Though you were not born from her belly

She loves you just the same.

You do not share his bloodline

But he gladly gives you his name.

When you need someone to take your side

They will cast aside all blame.

If you need a hug to lift you up

Their arms will steal your pain.

For all they want to give to you

Is not ever given in vain.

And you give them more than you can know

With just your smiles and your dreams.
