Poem with a Sour Taste

Let Me Not Say What I Want to Say

Allana Calhoun
I have a response to that but I will hold my tongue

My mind is now reeling as my bell has been rung

Again I find myself baffled and again bemused

a mixture of confusion with a pinch of amused

Disagree as I will with the choices they make

a salty grain and a bittersweet pill I shall take

My opinion is meaningless and completely moot

but I won't let it take me down, I shan't give a hoot

Try and try again until I'm totally tried out

leaving behind the urges to swear, cry and pout

I know I can rely on the few who savor the rare

They shall support me with their words and with their care.

It is sometimes hard to control our tongues but best when we do, especially when we are angry. Great job.

Poetry's all about emotion, so I like to see work like this where the writer doesn't hold back.
