Poem: When We Were Seventeen

Precy Anza
Remember those days when we we're seventeen?
We used to laugh, share secrets, and things.
We share our lunch, share some tears,
And sometimes even share glommy days.

Then high school life had come to end
And new path has to start.
You got plans of your own,
And I got to do mine.

You know that I was leaving,
To go and live abroad.
I told you I am worried,
It might be hard to cope.

I told you I would miss you,
And all the things we used to do,
You said you would miss me too
And you promise to write me soon.

My first months here has been so tough,
My home sickness is so bad.
But what comforts me is that I know
Through letters we stay in touch.

Time is so fast, three years had past
I haven't heard from you,
I wonder how you're doing now?
The best friend that I know.

Thanks Christine for dropping by. Yeah, I've been inspired to write this poem for my besfriend. I moved here in California last 2004. We've been together in the same school sonce we were 9 year old until high school. So yeah, the poem is really about us.

High school friends are always special. Where did you move abroad, or is this just a part of your poem. Look forward to reading more.
