I am from the music
the electronic sounds of synthesizers, keyboards and drum machines.
Madonna, Michael Jackson and MTV.

I am from the TV cuties we all fell in love with
Scott Baio, Kirk Cameron, and little Ricky Schroeder.

I am from the fashions we all thought made us so cool
the leg warmers, parachute pants and of course, jelly shoes.

I am from the sports cars known by letters and numbers
the Mazda RX-7, the Nissan 300ZX and the boss on the road the Mustang GT.

I am from the loads of cool toys
The colorful Care Bears and My Little Ponies and the mysterious puzzle
of the Rubik's cube.

I am from the actor turn President and Reaganomics
to the war on drugs and to "Just say No" and
to the beginning of the Eco-activist and the increased awareness of the dangers of smoking.

I am from all these things, great and small, that made it the decade known as the '80's.
