Poems About Basketball

Favorite Sport
One day I had a small wish
To see myself shoot a swish
I found a hoop and found a ball
Started dribbling down the school hall
"HEY COME BACK MISTER."
But I smirked at Mr. Brister
And pushed open the gym doors
Imagining the claps and roars
Strolled to the sideline, aimed for the hoop
And watched the ball arc down the loop
Dribbling, dribbling fast down court
Jumping and dunking, although I'm short
Yes, basketball is my only sport

Pain
Contact sport, sweat, grime
Dripping down the shot clock too
Eyes fixed on the net
