Out into the darkness of space
To find the light of heaven
Shining brightly in the nebulae.
Hell abides in faith with the good,
Everywhere high and low,
Like a smile hides an aching tooth
So, too, this mish-mash in truth.
Driving on the mainline
Running with you every night
Out here where it's cold
I keep you in my sight
Oh, it's a long time all right
Since I held you in my arms
And kissed those rose petal lips.
Can heaven be far away?
Sending up the cosmos again
The nebulae appear in your eyes
And tears of joy for this fantasy
May in the end come to be real.
