Poetry: Fly By

Lindsey Dunn
Like a moon with no orbit
you fly by
I'm a radio tower
but you fly by

Like a bee with no hive
you fly by
heavy honey in the proboscis
no queen to dance for
and you fly by

Willing wanderer
where is your home
when you lay your head
(do you?) down at night
Where are you flying to?

My right arm
extends from shoulder to elbow
to wrist to hand
upon your shoulder
and you turn
to fly on and my arm
stays on your shoulder and rips
from the socket

And the pieces
fly by
and you never noticed
my hand upon your shoulder

Like a plane that never lands
you fly by
And I just watch you fly by
and wait for the next time
you will circle around
