Poetry: The Legend of the Mouse

Amanda
In the world of giant things to a mouse,

There came a great day for me.

The day just seemed like an ordinary day for this mouse.

Running on my four little paws through,

Blades of tall green grass,

Darting under flowers of a rainbow of color,

And leaping over mountains of pebbles.

Searching for food under a great green leaf,

I was suddenly lifted off my feet.

A giant lion with a thick yellow mane had swiped me up.

I was very brave and did not fear death.

I yelled at this giant beast to release me at once.

The pain in the creatures eyes were clear,

I thought I had scared the fierceness out of him.

I then looked at the inner side of his giant paw.

A long black thorn had penetrated this lion's paw.

I looked into the eyes of my captured and said I would help him.

He placed me back on to the ground and I scurried to his paw.

I examined it thoroughly.

I put my front two paws around this black piece of pain,

Then yanked it out with little effort.

I had saved this lion from his pain.

The lion was very thankful for my kindness.

He became on of my best friends.

Together we would parade around,

Me on his back protecting him from all dangers.

For I am the bravest mouse there is.

So just remember just because you are small does not mean

You cannot do big things.

But of course not every one can be as great as me.

I am the legend, I am the mouse
