Poetry: Live

H. Kris Thomas
Pluck the petal
Pluck the string
Dance upon your coffin
And live

Ring the bell
Hear them toll
Cue the chimes and drums
Dance upon your headstone
And live

And it is far from over
In the worst and best of times
So I refrain from soldering a smile
Or frown upon my face

Embrace the child
Laugh and play
Swing higher
Than you did in your youth
Dance upon the sandy beach of peace
And live

Run and jump
Collapse and feel
For the thump
I see it in your throat pulsing away
Dance upon the stony path of life
And live

Smile and laugh
Cry and weep
Take the good
Understand the terrible
Abstain from judging in your living time
Dance in the meadow of light
And live

Look up
Look down
Take notice
Take to studying
Dance till you understand this life
And then you'll earn your crown

Also, this reminds me a bit of OSHO.

Great great great advice. I wish it was as easy to live that way. Little steps, though, can bring us a long way. Thank you for your poem.
