Poetry to Love

Poetry from the Minded Mind

Chad R. Herman
The water

It cleanses me
as it washes over
me and

SMACKS

me off my bored,
flailing into the
wash-over
the falls-

and baptized
in a wipe out.

No Swimming!!

I took off all
my clothes
and jumped in the crystal
blue lake.

The water was cool,
serene,
beautiful
as it lapped and washed
over me.

Then a man on shore
yelled that
it was private
property & swimming
wasn't allowed - I

wonder if the fish
that bumped up
against me knew that?

I lived

I lived to be a pilot
I lived to be a co-pilot
I lived to hold a cross
I lived to be a geisha
I lived to be a man
Now - I like to be me.

Sun Sets

The sun
set
the table for
his guests:

Water
Star
Moon
fish,

and everyone was
late - but the
fish, so the
sun sank
sullenly,
and everyone
showed up for
a night full
of sighs.
