Poetry: Winter Sovereign

Rik Merchant
A weather seamstress clothed our world

in suits of white luminous snow.

She clad ev'ry tree, ev'ry house, ev'ry road

And fashioned about them a cold cloak of air,

draping and freezing her stitched seams of ice,

in fitting welcome to winter sovereign.
